The Time Has Come

I have wanted to paint our kitchen cabinets white since the day we moved in. We have been here for close to two years now and we are a step closer. We have purchased a paint sprayer, drawer pulls, and floor tile. I think I have narrowed it down to one or two counter top colors. So we still have to get the tile for the back splash, they will be white 3x6 subway tile.

This is what we have so far. The lighting is terrible but you can kind of see the direction I am going. I think these colors will look really good with white cabinets. I found these awesome drawer pulls on clearance at potterybarn.com $9.99 for six of them!

Fun, Fabulous Florida

I have been a bad blogger. I said I was going to blog everyday from Florida, and that didn't happen. I guess I was just having too much fun! We had such a great time, we spent as much time as possible on the beach. We were so lucky to be able to visit with our wonderful and welcoming family. While we were there we went tubing, some of us learned how to wake board and best of all we met baby Brooke. The next day we went to Disney World and after that we just hung out on the beach the rest of our time there.

This is the pretty canal we stayed on, and where we saw manatees!

Sergio didn't do so well on the wake board, but he tried.

This is me showing him how it's done ; )

Nicki making it look easy!

This is me taking Grandma for a ride on the wave runner

I have nothing to say about this......

Mike, Linda, and Brooke

What a cute little family!

Not much to blog about.....

Well there isn't much to blog about these days. I don't have any projects going on right now being that we are trying to save some extra money for our upcoming Florida trip. So I thought I would post some pictures of Roscoe who is about 7 1/2 months old now. We have had him for almost 4 months now and he just keeps growing. Last time we weighed him he was about 43 lbs. He still has his puppy face though, I don't think that will ever go away.

This first picture is the day we picked him up:

Getting a little bigger...

This is his first day of puppy school, as you can see he is getting a little harder to hold...

Still trying to fit on Dad's lap.....

He likes the mud, but he doesn't realize that a bath will follow shortly after...

These last two pictures were taken today. In the first one he is watching Sergio play a tennis video game.

An Old Window Gets A New Life

So here it is, the window project. It didn't turn out as I had hoped, but it's still cute and it will add some color to the room. My original idea was to use mirrored tiles. But the openings are all odd sizes and shapes from layers of paint and caulk. So I came up with an alternative, scrapbook paper. I bought a book of it that had all different patterns in coordinating colors.

Old tired window...

With new personality...

Now I just need to figure out a way to hang it. It is very heavy and the wall I want it on is plaster, I'm scared...

The Project That Would Never End

So I have been looking for a small console table for our entryway. I couldn't find what I was looking for and when I did it was too expensive. One day Sergio came home with a Target ad that had a book shelf in it. It was the right size and price but all the wrong colors. So of course the ideas start to fly. I started this on Saturday and I just finished today. I vow to never paint another piece of furniture without a paint sprayer.

This is what I started with:

And now....

I also have to bring attention to my new alabaster lamp! I found it on clearance at HomeGoods. Is it possible to be in love with a lamp?

Our New Windows

Well they have finally arrived!! They are so pretty. I can't believe what a difference it makes inside and out.

Before:

After:

The new windows make everything else look ugly, I guess we will just have to get a new storm door soon.

Unfortunately I don't have very many before pictures. Trust me, it's a huge improvement. We can actually open these without pulling a muscle!

Oh, and please ignore the ugly bushes they will be gone soon enough. I am going to start working on the project I have in mind for the old windows, so keep checking back!
